Moved back to Maastricht full time a few months ago to run our cafe.
Hoping to find some ex-pats interested in starting up an English quiz night.

Cool site. ive just recently moved to g.d luxembourg and stumbled upon this site while researching some info about maastricht on recommendations to look there for work by some belgian friends. id love to visit maastricht so this has already given me an insight into a cool european city. Ed, originally from Ireland.
Wherever there is a large group of (English-speaking) expats there is usually a writers group(book club/ other cultural group...) that springs up after a while. Is this also true of the expats in Maastricht? Does such a group exist? Would anyone be interested in starting up such a group with me? Or simply attending? Please let me know?
We're interested in hearing from expats! Collecting all of your funny...errrr embarrassing stories when speaking a foreign language!

Any word on Collette's post on ... looking for an English writers' group/circle in Maastricht or the general area (In Belgium would also be fine). Does anyone know if such a group exists? ... Some of us here at Fizz Giz are much interested in knowing as well.
We are an international women's group in Cologne and are curious to see which other international women's groups exist. We'd like to say hi and wish you all the best!
Komt u ook naar de open monumenten dag 13 september om 12.00 uur in het nieuwe Infopoint te schinveld gemeente Onderbanken

Hi, I just found out about Crossroads, and I'm wondering if I could find any information about housing for international students. I know there's an international guest house, but other than that are there any other international settings for college students to live in? I have a daughter that will be starting college in Maastricht this month, and though she is half-Dutch, she doesn't speak the language as we have been living abroad our entire lives. Our last post was Pakistan! Any tips or information would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you Iiris! I will pass on your contact details to the Maastricht International Playgroup.
First of all I have to say, that I really appreciate this idea of Crossroads! It's nice to be able to read the news from Limburg in English. I'm Iiris almost 23-year-old girl originally from Finland, but I've been living around Europe for 4 years already. This is my second year in Maastricht, and I just recently found Crossroads and hopefully I will get in contact with the community as well.
However, I have something on my mind as well. As I'm a student, I'm looking for a part-time job, or something to do once in while. It came to my mind that maybe there are expat-families with children as well, and I'd love to do some babysitting! I'm not sure if this is the right way to contact, but it is worth trying. As it is difficult to find a part-time job as a non-dutch speaker, or with quite limited Dutch skills, I thought I'd give it a go this way.
