Belgium and Germany most popular destinations for emigrants
Last year, 28 thousand native Dutch left the Netherlands to settle elsewhere, i.e. 9 thousand fewer than in record year 2006. The most popular destinations were Belgium and Germany. The rate of over-50s was relatively high among emigrants to France, Portugal and Spain.

Limburg niet duidelijk voor buitenland
Bedrijven en toeristen uit het buitenland hebben geen goed beeld van Limburg. Dat komt omdat de gemeenten en de provincie niet met dezelfde boodschap de grens overgaan. Soms profileert men zich met ‘Maastricht Region’, dan weer met ‘South-Limburg’ en soms simpelweg met 'Limburg'. En dat is verwarrend.

AFP: Foreign universities eye Indian opening
Krista Knopper, India adviser for the Netherlands' Maastricht University, said the proposed legislation promised a revolution for Indian students. "Maastricht will definitely follow developments around the foreign education bill in India and could be interested in starting a campus," she told AFP.

Zachte G krijgt in Berlijn Demography-Prize
Maja Rocak en Maurice Hermans, onderzoekers van Hogeschool Zuyd, hebben in Berlijn de Sonderpreis van de 2nd Demography-Prize in ontvangst genomen. LinkedIn introduces ‘Maastricht Area’ next to ‘Eindhoven Area’
Since today, on LinkedIn, inhabitants from the Maastricht Region are no longer automatically regionally registered in their profiles under ‘Eindhoven Area’. Now, their profiles display ‘Maastricht Area.’ Achieving this took over half a year of lobbying from the Maastricht Region Branding Foundation.
