Academic institutes: 11 September: International Graduation Ceremony at Maastricht School of Management

On September 11, the Maastricht School of Management annual Graduation Ceremony will take place.

Over 120 graduates, originating from 37 countries and territories are expected in Maastricht to receive their degree of Master of Management in International Business (MM), Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Philosophy (Mphil) or Doctor of Business Administration (DBA).

Minister for Development Cooperation Agnes van ArdenneGuest of honor and keynote speaker at this year’s graduation is Mrs. A.M.A. van Ardenne-van der Hoeve, Minister of Development Cooperation of the Netherlands.

For the first time in MSM’s history, the Philip Houben Award will be granted to the student who shows the most promise of being a great ambassador to the city of Maastricht and MSM.

Mr. Philip Houben was mayor of Maastricht from 1985 until 2002. He helped to transform a regional city into a city with European prominence. To honor the achievements and legacy of former mayor Houben, MSM is instituting the Philip Houben Award. Mr. Houben will hand over the award together with Minister van Ardenne.

The Philip Houben Award includes a certificate and a statue. The famous Maastricht artist Mr. Albert (Appie) Drielsma has designed the statue.

Since not all graduates will be accompanied by their family and friends from abroad, the ceremony will be broadcast live from 01.30 PM until 03.30 PM.
