Cable company Essent Kabelcom will this month between May 8 and 18 stop offering the Spanish television channel TVE and Cartoon Network in Maastricht in its regular cable package.
The stations will be replaced by Sat 1 and Euronews. Essent will also start offering Preview TV.
TVE and the Cartoon Network are not part of the regular cable package elsewhere in Limburg either.
Essent informs however that the two channels will still be accessible via its basic digital package.
The cable company, which recently took over the cable network from Nutsbedrijven Maastricht, said that it had consulted the Spanish community in Maastricht. According to Essent, most Spanish people living in Maastricht have a satellite dish.
Essent has opened an email address for comments.
